Yea, it's understood. I'm just saying he knows the market is full with Pac and Floyd still fighting so he'll take his time and build his name on HBO. It also allows him to build his brand on hbo

That's a good idea.... I think canelo will probably fight 3 times a year, much like this year, and have 2 PPv fights and 1 tv fight..
It's smart by hbo to air him on regular tv because no matter who he fights it will be one of your top 5 shows of the year in terms of ratings.

I think HBO unlike Showtime knows that it takes time to build a guy into a PPV Draw, that doesn't happen over night

Yep, it'll do big ratings whenever he fights on HBO, and it gives paying subscribers a chance to see him live without having to buy ppv.

Canelo isn't at the level where every fight should be on pay per view.

Even DLH would have fights off pay per view....he'd have regular HBO fights prior to big pay per views....like Oba Carr prior to Trinidad, Derrell Coley prior to Mosley 1.
