Showtime is dead and has been so since Oscar woke up. Not that he makes great matches very often, but he knows HBO is how you make a name. Smart move.Comment

Chavez Jr. is going to be a free agent soon too. I think he will sign with Showtime and Haymon next. Canelo hasn't looked good in any of his recent performaces, and if he loses to guys like Cotto or GGG how can you put him on PPV after that?
HBO may have the edge in PPV now but let's see what happens with Chavez Jr. If he goes to Showtime next year like I expect I can see Mayweather putting him on his under-card to lock down the May date. Chavez Jr. has so many more PPV options (any body from 160-175). Hopkins, Froch, Stevenson, Kessler, etc.Comment

The furthest I've sat away from the ring at a live fight was about 3-4 rows from the top at the Pyramid in Memphis for Lewis-Tyson. That was absolutely miserable and almost pointless to watch the fight. And that was in a 10K-12K seat arena. I can't imagine anyone being willing to pay more than about $10-$20 for 75%-80% of the seats in the venues you named.Comment

Not dead. Every successful PPV has been on Showtime. This move will hurt, but not as much as people are thinking. His fight with Angulo, Angulo was the fan favorite, and the Lara fight did donuts. Its a reason they didn't put third fight on PPV. HBO needed this because their only other star is Chavez jr, and he's been shelfedComment

[QUOTE=LomaUsykKlichko;14972436]Damn showtimes kind of ****ed they don't have any stars after Floyd retires, they have Danny Garcia but he's not a big enought star for ppv hbo has Canelo, cotto, coming up crawford, Mikey Garcia if he decides to fight again[/QUOTE
You don't have to like Swift but he has far more star power than Canelo. He is much more marketable to an international audience, which is part of the reason he has the fan base he does now.
Fact is that after Floyd left HBO has struggle. Pacquaio definitely hasn't delivered for them and GGG has been stagnant, while his Showtime counterparts do consistently better with a smaller audience.Comment
