    This era.

Some people have said that this era of boxing is weak, and that boxing will die when Floyd and Manny retire. How strong or weak would you say it is? I think this era overall is very strong, with great fighters like:

    Floyd
    Manny
    Bradley
    Marquez
    Ward
    Cotto
    Froch
    Wlad
    Hopkins
    Roman Gonzalez

And fighters who could go on to be great:

    Thurman
    Brook
    Canelo
    Andrade
    Spence
    Kovalev
    Danny Garcia
    Joshua
    Crawford
    Lomachenko

I think boxing will be just fine when Floyd and Manny retire.

No one is saying boxing will die, what does that even mean ?, it's just not close to as popular as it used too be.

I honestly feel there isn't fighters that fight with the same will and determination as a guy like Pacquiao who has his country behind him and Jr. who has the haters to get him up enough to perform against weak minded competition.

When a guy like Pacquiao retires, watching a man fight like he's an entire nation goes with him. I don't see anyone like that with a following the same way as he has.

When Fraud Jr. retires, well, Adrian Broner is doing a spirited effort at looking like a clown to follow in Jr.'s footsteps, but cmon, honestly, he's not the same for the right and wrong reasons. Broner comes to fight unlike Jr. which I actually enjoy, and gets into a good scrap. But the second he opens his mouth, he sounds like a an idiot who got the wrong script handed to him and makes himself look ****** trying to act like the next Jr.

Other than that, you can list upcoming prospects who seem good, but they are fighting for that big payday. Once it comes and goes, will they have the desire to be great and continue fighting great? That is where the big problem is. Fighters these days go for that lottery opponent and then they are out, not giving a **** about legacy. The biggest issue with that seems to be the lack of drive that Jr. and Pacquiao have.

I honestly feel like Carl Froch reminded me of them but he's almost out too I think. Same with Juan Manuel Marquez.

Broner doesn't come to fight. He just can't help it, because his defense sucks. He's got heart, though.

You are right. The only problem with this era is that fans go to forums like NSB and make a determination about a fighter when his career hasn't even really begun. They write off a guy when he loses once or twice.

The LHW division is going to be VERY interesting in the next few years, with all the hard-punching prospects there, such as Beterbiev and Mekhontsev.
