WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa (24-0-1, 18KOs) is still considering the possibility of moving up to the junior welterweight division. Last year Figueroa was the mandatory challenger to Adrien Broner, who held the WBC crown at 135. But then Broner (29-1, 22KOs) jumped up to the welterweight division and Figueroa, the interim-champion, was elevated to the status of full champion.

After suffering a loss to Marcos Maidana last December, Broner moved down in weight to 140-pounds. And Figueroa is still very much interested in facing him.

Actually I like this fight. Figueroa style can give anyone problems b/c of the angles of his punches and the pressure he applies during the course of the fight. Figueroa style + Philly shoulder roll = action pack fight

The irony is Figeroua was AB's mandatory when he moved up to fight Paulie. Broner would have beaten the **** outta him and then been criticized for fighting him. Probably by many of the people that are gonna infest this thread claiming Omar will beat him.
