WBC lightweight champion Omar Figueroa (24-0-1, 18KOs) is still considering the possibility of moving up to the junior welterweight division. Last year Figueroa was the mandatory challenger to Adrien Broner, who held the WBC crown at 135. But then Broner (29-1, 22KOs) jumped up to the welterweight division and Figueroa, the interim-champion, was elevated to the status of full champion.
After suffering a loss to Marcos Maidana last December, Broner moved down in weight to 140-pounds. And Figueroa is still very much interested in facing him.
