Algieri needs to win this fight. Fans are sick of the Mayweather/Pac debates. It should end ASAP. Mayweather should stay a duck and deserve to have zero chance of redeeming it.

LOL @ people writing off Pacquiao because he got caught by Hulquez. It was a perfectly timed counter that would have ko'd anybody. Pac beat previously undefeated Timothy Bradley since then, & even took a monstrous haymaker from him quite well. He also beat Rios, who had only lost one fight prior. People clown Rios because he's one-dimensional, but few want to face him. Algieri got a gift decision over Pac's former sparring partner, and fights the man himself next. He said he's going to KO Pacquiao @ first, now he says he's going to dominate him from the opening bell. Sure you will, kid, sure you will.

It's funny how defensive Paq fans get when he's accused of juicing, yet here you go doing the same to a legendary and classy fighter like Marquez. And Manny deserves no credit for the Rios win, that was a stay busy fight, nothing more nothing less. And he also deserves no credit for taking on Algieri with a welterweight division so stacked with guys more worthy.

It's funny how everyone is writing Algieri off because he's not a big name.. yet. Chris has all the physical advantages and tools needed to beat Pac, as well as the style.. And STYLES is what makes fights. I remember Mosley giving Pac fits just by utilizing a ton of movement, the problem is he got scared to let his hands go after Pac dropped him. Pac is an inside outside fighter, he comes in a blazing with lighting quick combinations and gets out of harm's way a.s.a.p. Really all Algieri has to do is keep Pac on the outside by utilizing his height and reach advantage. Chris has to work the jab constantly, NEVER stop moving his feet, be intelligent and he'll be ok. He has the stamina and the toughness to get through the kind of pressure Pac will attempt to apply on him. And even if Chris wins, it doesn't mean Pac is shot.. Just means that Chris is a lot better then most of you seem to be giving him credit for. All the pressure is on Pac here.. High risk/Low reward situation.

Pac is past prime, but is not shot.. he proved that by beating Bradley who is an A level fighter. Algieri is taller than Bradley, has a longer reach advantage and will implement the same stick and move gameplan that Bradley tried to implement in his first fight with Pac.. D
Biggest difference is the longer reach. That jab is going to give Pac fits.

Combined with his ring savvy, Chris had enough power to win the fight.. That's all that matters. Marquez is more of a offensive counter puncher and Chris is more of an outside boxer.. two different styles.

Does It really matter If Algeria was a hand picked opponent? Can you think of any other top pound for pound fighters that pick and choose who they fight next?
