Comments Thread For: Beltran Plans To Secure Big Fight For Orlando Salido

In a bout that many are calling the "Fight of The Year" - Orlando Salido (42-12-2, 29KOs) survived three knockdowns and scored four of his own to stop Terdsak Kokietgym (53-5) in eleven rounds to capture the interim-WBO super featherweight title at the Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.

Well Mikey is out of the picture and when he does decide to return to boxing he said it would be at 135. Lomachenko is busy at 126 with a potential tourney going on and has alo't of great fights left at the division. Especially with the winner of Walters vs Donaire and Gradovich roaming around the division.

Francisco Vargas would be a terrific fight and a tremendous test for El Bandido. Not only that but a win over Salido would add depth to his resume. I also read they were interested in either Miura or Uchiyama, either fight would be explosive and a possible FOTY contender once again.

You still have Miguel Roman whom recently retired Ponce de Leon. That would be a nice match up between two wily and crafty sluggers. Rances Barthelemy would be another great option and I would love to see that fight myself. He can also test Javier Fortuna or Adrian Estrella and either help them catapult into the big leagues or set them a few steps back in their careers.

He still has Sergio Thompson and Burgos Jr to choose from. Sergio Thompson would be a fire fight but most likely the easier of the two to handle. However, Burgos can't seem to catch a break as of recently. This fight could potentially put him back on top of things.

Last but not least the fight I prefer above all... Michael Farenas vs Orlando Salido. Now that would be a ****ing war. Who would win? Farenas' dynamite left hand or Orlando's heat seeking right? I have no idea but it would be a spectacle to witness.

Does any one have the connect percentage of Salido's low blows on his last three fights? I'm guessing somewhere around 70%.

What a great fight these two warriors had on Saturday night! I wish Orlando Salido the best and I hope he gets the recognition that he deserves.

Orlando has never failed a drug test, one but it was a false positive cause he immediately went and had the university give him a 3rd party test and it was clean.

I like vargas but I think Salido is too rugged for him atm.

The more fighters act up at weigh-ins... push shove, call each other names, call their wives names, whatever... the less happens in the ring.

                    Exhibit A: Salido!
