Salido is all heart. He was getting caught and blasted the first few rounds. Went down on hard, hard shots. Looked half done.

Then he came on like a bull.

I used to think that people who say he was coming on vs Mikey were high, but you know what? He had the same look of defeat in this one....which quickly transforms into rage as the rounds go by. No amount of kd's take the fight out of him.

WOuld Mikey beat him? In all likelihood, but he would have tested Mikey's will those last few rounds like no other
I was one that said mikey quit in that fight, Salido was coming on, even against Gamboa he never gave up and that's why the Cuban fouled him in the twelve, frustration, and he could had probably stop him in that round...

Yo.. great fight. Salido stops Jhonny in the mid to late rounds. A firefight while it lasts though.

That would be fun. I don't think Gonzalez has the whiskers for it but he might land something good before he goes.

Overall, I think Salido beat the living crap out of this guy and he probably won't be the same after this. Amazing fight! I was super impressed by both fighters, but Salido is incredibly tough!

Gonzalez has kitten whiskers. Unless he catches Salido with a nuclear hook early, I see Salido taking over and walking "El Bombardero" down easily. Jhonny is always hit and miss with his performances and his shaky chin hardly ever does him any favors in the important fights throughout his extensive career.

Salido might have an iron will and a beach ball sized heart to go along with it, but I'm sure he can get hurt and have his lights turned off as well. Especially since his punch resistance is looking a bit withered and Jhonny Gonzalez record isn't very friendly towards bronze chins.

Another reason it's a bit of a toss up for me is due to the fact that Salido was able to eat JuanMa's powerpunches for 18 rounds, how much wear and tear did that have on his chin? I know he has fought several times since and was stopped by Mikey as well but Jhonny might be the strongest puncher he would face since Lopez himself. If Salido's chin stays intact for the first 4 to 5 rounds I see a stoppage around the 9th with Salido standing over Jhonny.

He was truly hurt in this fight and also against Lomachenko/Garcia/Haya/Lopez. It's not bad balance, he's just not hard to hurt or drop.
