Myth or truth?
Shorter people do well in boxing..

Short fighters have to watch out for tall lanky fighters who can dictate the pace of the fight/control distance using their reach.
Tall fighters have to watch out for short fighters who can take the fight on to the inside where they have the shorter more compact punches.
You have tall fighters who fight short, short fighters who fight tall.
Every height is good for boxing, you just have to use what suites you.Comment

Depends on what type of person you are fighting. Shorter people can (should be able) to get on the inside on the other person, especially if the opponent is taller/lankier. They might have a good jab and be able to keep you out but on the whole, a shorter guy has the advantages on the inside(obviously). It's when the shorter guy can't get on the inside that the problems pop up.
Most taller fighters don't fair well on the inside although some are very adept at it. Klitchko's bread and butter is keep the smaller man on the outside, works wonders for him.Comment

Shorter guys can do just fine as being short does provide some advantages on the inside, gives you a lower center of gravity, also presents a smaller target.
One of the best things you can be in boxing is being pretty short with very long arms. In that you can have the range of a longer fighter but with the small target (plus those long arms cover up more when the guard is up). If that guy knows how to tie up or shorten up their shots n the inside they are damn tough to deal with in all sorts of areas.Comment

I believe so. The taller the fighter, the longer his arms / legs... less precise control of both IMO. Tall fighters tend to throw wider looping shots whereas shorter fighters throw more tight solid hooks due to their more compact arms. Shorter legs help move with more precision and control as well.Comment
