1. Floyd made a career out of ducking guys. Dumbest myth in delusional fans' minds. Doesn't even make any sense.
2. You have to TAKE the title from the champ. The hell that even mean? You either beat somebody or you don't. Anybody, champ or not. You either got the best of it on the cards or you didn't.
3. Andre Ward is a routine headbutter/dirty fighter. His head came together with Kessler's a lot but since then? I don't see it. They try to sell that as a knock on Ward but it's BS. Hops uses his head a lot more than that when he can. Ward/Kessler had nothing to do with Ward being dirty. Clash of styles like Bradley/Alexander. Bradley's not dirty either. Ward's not a dirty fighter. Butthurt Kessler fans want that to follow him forever. Fan of both personally.
4. That either Floyd or Manny are anymore cherrypickers than anybody else who is a star fighter. They're only held to ****** standards. Nobody says jack about Marquez fighting Ramos or Fedchenko but people b*tch about Mayweather/Maidana for a unification or Pacquiao/Bradley? Those are some seriously different standards and different standards are great myth creators.
5. That all Floyd fans hate Pacquiao and all Pacquiao fans hate Mayweather. Real fans know both are great and respect their abilities and accomplishments.
6. The myth that being slick is about how good you are. It's a style, it has nothing to do with how good you are with that style. People talk about guys that use a LOT of slickness in their defense and even though they're not that good with it and get hit a lot people act like just because they aren't Mayweather or Rigo that must mean they're not slick. If you use a lot of movement and angles to slip punches as the better part of your defense, that's being slick. You MAY be crappy at it but it doesn't mean you're slick. It's like the equivalent of if everybody compared all pressure fighters to Chavez Senior and anyone who wasn't as good as that you just claimed they weren't a pressure fighters at all. Styles and levels are not the same thing. There's a lot of slick fighters out there. Most of them aren't world class though. And the ones that are might be of different levels. Lara is a slick world class contender. Rigo is a slick p4p elite. But they're both slick.
7. The myth that Wlad and Vitali somehow doubleteamed the division and Wlad got "help" from Vitali and it devalued his reign. Wlad fought almost all the best contenders of the post Lennox era, Vitali fought almost none. Vitali "helped" Wlad not fight who? Kevin Johnson? Adamek? Really? Because Adamek was the highest rated contender and only real earned Ring rated contender Vitali fought that Wlad didn't already fight (Peter) since his comeback. That's called singleteamed not doubleteamed. lol If Vitali fought any of Povetkin, Chambers, Haye, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Thompson...naw. He didn't. Not one. The Vitali help myth must die. It's been a Wlad era not a Klitschkos era.
TRUTH. Ali was lighting Foreman up with combinations the whole time. He was clearly winning that fight when the knockout happened. Not that it was easy and he didn't get his body battered but he was still clearly winning.Originally posted by LarryXXX View PostComment

1. Figure Marquez fought Manny a total of 3 fights plus 6 rounds...I'm guessing a total of 1600-1700 punches thrown by Marquez in those fights total. 1 out of 1700 seems pretty lucky to me statistically
