I can just imagine the outrage if this was Floyd facing Algieri. I can't take Paq fans serious, this guy Algieri is a grade A bum, has the power of a newborn, and is coming off a gift decision vs Ruslan. And I'm reading here how Algieri is "slick.. tall.. savvy.." are you serious ? Pacquiao should be able to knock him out within two rounds. This fight is a joke and an insult, I remember Arum calling for a boycott of the first Mayweather - Maidana fight, I think Floyd should return the favor, this fight is an abomination.

Unfortunately, nice guys don't sell. The college graduate vs. the Filipino version of MLK, doesn't sell fights. Someone has to be that guy. This is the formula started by a former professional wrestler, perfected by Muhammad Ali, and is responsible for the change from Pretty Boy Floyd to "Money" Mayweather. It's like negative political ads, everyone says they hate them, but statistics show, "they work." The guy even said "if and when..." he didn't go in on Manny. Freddie knows that, but his job is to strir the pot.
Filipino version of MLK ? what in the holy FCK!. .

Provodnikov beat algeri i rewatched the fight and provos power shots were way more effective than algeris jab not to mention the extra points cause if the knockdowns. Obviously ruslan didnt feel like fighting this runner again so roach wants to get him back with pacman .

Ruslan would lose again. Algieri was clearly out landing Provo, using good foot work and forcing Ruslan to think twice about throwing his predictable punches. He did all this with a bad eye,all the while never letiing Ruslan take advantage of the damage he did earlier.

Can boxing writers PLEASE stop using the term "warns" or "warning" whenever a trainer or fighter says something to or about another fighter?

It's completely idiotic to refer to it as a warning. Why would you warn your direct competitor in a contest? You're trying to beat them - you don't warn them about anything.

              He's threatening - not warning.

It's a long shot, but it would be funny to see Roach eat his words again.

After calling an undefeated world champion with Algieri's skill set C-level, you should retire from this forum.

I only wish Floyd would fight a boxer of Algieri's caliber instead of giving us C-level brawler after C-level brawler and charging $75 for it.

i admit algeri was winning rounds, especially the middle rounds but provo won a clear 5 rounds and including the Knockdowns that means he should of won the fight, but american judges HATE russians cause their old af and only remember their fears from the cold war growing up, those scorecards are a joke.
