As previously reported, the World Boxing Organization announced that Caribe Promotions submitted the winning bid for Guillermo Rigondeaux's mandatory defense of the WBO title against challenger Chris Avalos.

Caribe was the only participant in Friday's purse bid and threw down $317,777.77 dollars to secure the rights. They advised the WBO that November 22 is the tentative date with venues in Miami and the Dominican Republic being explored.

Dude just doesn't get it. He's not facing Avalos next. I'd be shocked if Caribe even has $300k to put up.

Should have fought Avalos the first time Arum offered him the fight.

Id like to thank my promoter for winning the bid?

How can you not win it if you're the only one bidding?

I was thinking the same thing. The fact neither hearns nor top rank even bothered to show up shows they're not interested in a card with Rigo involved. Plus we know Arum's ability to hold a grudge. He won't work with Rigo.

What else he supposed to do? He is his mandatory & ranked in the top 5.

If this was an opponent for LSC, Quigg, Frampton nobody would have a problem with it.
