Who is next for Mayweather and why?

Obviously we all feel it should be Manny Pacquiao but if not him, then who?

Amir Khan? It may make some good money but no one can say FOR SURE. But may be competitive because of Khans speed.

Canelo Alvarez 2? The only reason to make the 2nd fight is for financial reasons. It will make big money. Period.

Keith Thurman? It can be competitive and hardcores will love it but no money here.

Danny Garcia? Can be good money ( two unbeatens with names) can be competitive, maybe, ...it's interesting.

Miguel Cotto 2? Very interesting, very competitive, and good money. We all talk about the Canelo vs Cotto clash and it's great.

But if I were managing Cotto, I would tell him to take Floyd 1st, if you lose Canelo will still be there. If you fight Canelo and lose..you will never get that Floyd 2.

    What's your vote and why?

    Khan or manny

Most likely khan.. He brings the UK fanbase and it's an easier fight to get signed

Neither on the list. If you could turn someone like Errol Spence Jr. Or Terrance Crawford into trash talkers, then you'd probably have your answer. Both have super star potential in terms of skill, they just need to appeal to the general public. Keep in mind that Mayweather was not always flashy. When he first came out, he was just as mild mannered as Crawford. Then his people told him how much more money he could make if he make a few "changes" .

No way the general public will get to know those names in less than a year?...you need the casual fan to make some money.

Too short to create a star or villain.

It maybe Khan based on financial reasons within 147

              or

Cotto because of his belts at MW and the money it can generate.

Remember Floyd Mayweather has a surprise for everyone .

Until I see otherwise I think it is going Khan then Garcia, Khan no matter what he is as a fighter has the mouth to sell the fight and a personality that people want to see him get knocked off.

Now I would do Khan first because he essentially doesn't need a big win to sell the fight, Garcia has a fan base and his dad is mouthy so he can also sell but not quite like Khan. Doing this fight at years end next year give Garcia time to put that Herrera fight out of the public's mind with a quality performance against someone credible (or two). Could also be Cotto if Cotto beat Canelo but I think Garcia is more likely.

That could change if the other big possibility opens up but I think this is the general plan as who knows if that one situation will ever change.

Hopefully it is Cotto for the middleweight title...or Manny for a huge unification bout...i think both fights happen next year to close out his career
