I believe the 2 true threats to Mayweather, and I mean 2 people I would make the favorite to beat Mayweather (not 50/50 like Khan and Pacquiao) are Erislandy Lara and Gennady Golovkin. Lara is just a pure technician, a southpaw, with speed and size to beat Mayweather. Golovkin is very powerful, and smart, and knows (unlike Maidana) how NOT to smother his punches and make you pay when you're on the ropes.Comment

Khan, like every other fighter not named Maidana(who has a classic swarmer style) dont realize their workrate drops consideribly when facing Floyd, they become tentative . They go into the fight with a great gameplan but when the bell rings it becomes a pure chess match and it doesn't matter if you're fast or accurate, if you cant match his IQ, you will lose.Comment

Good post! I totally agree! Get ready for the Khan lovers, because they'll tell you there's no point in fighting Thurman, he's a nobody, blah, blah, blah!Khan can probably beat Floyd and only now that Floyd is older..Manny loses to Floyd and Khan. I think Khan deserves the fight just based off popularity and the fact that he has a good chance to beat Floyd with his height speed power and great boxing ability (Floyd does not have bludgeoning power to stop Khan) but I completely understand that Khan needs a real fight (Thurman) to set up a fight with Floyd...Comment

Khan will win a tune up fight and get the Floyd fight in April, May or September...
Khan is May's only option besides Pacquiao which May continues to duck... he's afraid for his health as we know and that fear will only grow as he gets older and Pac stays relatively relevant... May will not fight Cotto and I don't see how the Canelo fight makes much sense right now especially when Canelo seems to be fighting above 154.Comment

Lmaoooo. All of these "Floyd is finished" comments are hilarious. He beat a top 5 welterweight twice, and the #1 jr middleweight who was supposed to be "the one to finally solve Floyd" in a span of a year. All three fights were relatively easy victories for Floyd, yet he's done. Yes, he's not the same anymore, but he still without a doubt is the top dog in boxing at 37. What I wanna know is what makes khan believe pac would win? Is it pac history against counter punchers and defensive fighters? We all know what happened last time fought a counter puncher "ZzZZzZzZz". Is it Floyd ability to fight a fighter who puts constant pressure? We seen how easily he handled maidana s pressure. While pac is fighting dudes movinng up in weight, coming off losses and guys you've never heard of until the beat the one dimensional provodnikov, Floyd is fighting canelo, maidana, guerrero. . Guys who really deserve these big fights. Only win pac gets credit for in the last 4-5 years is the Bradley. But maybe khan thinks beating Bradley is enough to overcome Floyd.Comment

Here's what they won't tell you:
Amir Khan, still a world champion but headed for hospital, mumbled through the bruises and cuts that dressed a face rearranged only moments before by Marcos Maidana: "I proved tonight I've got a chin."
He landed blows, unanswered, that would have destroyed any other fighter of comparable size in the world, including Khan's friend and stablemate, Manny Pacquiao. Yet, drawing on his phenomenal fitness, the boy from Bolton somehow remained upright to retain his WBA light-welterweight title. The judges gave it to him over 12 rounds by margins of 114-111 twice and 113-112. Had one judge, Jerry Roth, not bizarrely awarded the final round to the champion, Khan would have won by a single point on all three cards. I had him winning 115-112.
