Canelo jumping ship and going back to HBO?

According to Rick Glaser this is happening.

"Hearing versions of #Canelo possibly jumping ship from #Showtime & going to #HBO. I believe Canelo is returning to HBO! #boxing #Oscar #GBP"

Does this mean a fight with Cotto is on the Horizon? My guess is that Arum persuaded Oscar to move Canelo to HBO and let Haymon and Espinoza finish ruining Showtime.

Cotto's case is a bit different. It's based on sentimental reasons considering he rejected Showtime's hefty offer.

His speech addressing the audience at the MSG in the Martinez post-fight interview is very telling. Probably the same reason why he went back to Arum, patch things up, express gratitude, build old bridges in preparation for his retirement.

Well hopefully this is a good thing. The whole network situation is a bit confusing to me, but this means a Cotto fight is around the corner, right?!

Good stuff. If Canelo beats Cotto I think he's going directly at GGG.

I wonder if the move is because SHO told Canelo they are gonna give the May date to Floyd because of the reported 925k ppv's sold.

Canelo/Cotto may not come anywhere near that given the low numbers for both earlier this year.

Good move because Canelo's 3 biggest fights other than a Floyd rematch are on HBO-Cotto, GGG, and the big one-Chavez Jr.

                  Canelo Alvarez vs. Joshua Clottey
                  Humberto Soto vs. Mauricio Herrera

I would suspect that Emmanuel Taylor would be added to the card as well since he's with Star Boxing like Clottey. I still think it's possible this Canelo card ends up on PPV and they'll sell to the highest bidder between Showtime and HBO, just make sure you don't have any Al Haymon fighters on the main card.

I thought this was a given after Bhop decided to jump ship a couple of weeks ago, that was the first shoe to drop. It would be a great move for Canelo I think
