Floyd had his fight coming up with ricky hatton and was negotiating a rematch with oscar which fell through then retired...bob arum who is/was cottos promoter at the time was already thinking of matching him up with margarito after cotto beat mosely, and with floyd retired and bob not wanting to work with floyd and vice versa, why would that only be floyds fault???

Funny how we are talking about 2007-2008, yet ya bring up the bob arum/floyd dont work with each other excuse. If so, why did they bother with negotiations with pac at 2009-2010? Makes no sense, floyd could have BEEN said that he doesnt work with bob arum. Thats just another excuse.

A fight with cotto, he had a big following along with the wbo welterweight title, and the fight with cotto-mayweather at the time would have been a big unification bout. "floyd doesnt work with bob arum doe", that was more recently, no where near the 2007-2008 years. "Im gonna retire from boxing, boxing is not gonna retire me". And floyd didnt have a match coming up with hatton. Cotto/mosley nov 2007, hatton/mayweather 2007.

No it was the wba not the wbo, and at the time cotto was the second best but arum was not thinking of that fight, only the fans were and it was pretty mild at that... arum had already mentioned the cotto/gomez and margarito/cintron 2 fight as a prelude to the cotto/margarito fight so nice try, but there were no serious negotiations to stage that fight.

See people ignore the fact that it was Pacroid who said he would fight Floyd for less money & when Floyd offered him 40mil he ran like a B back to Rob Arum. Then it was Pcroid who refuse to take the test which could have damaged Floyd's credibility if he would have passed it (But he once again ran to rob Arum). Pacroid says Floyd's all talk but from where I'm sitting Floyd talk is always backed up in the ring. What Pacroid & his supporters fail to realize is he hasn't beat anyone of importance but expect to get a big payday on his juiced up name alone. Lets see herr, mosely fought mayorga in oct.2008, manny was getting ready to fight oscar...mosely beat margarito in 2009 and won the lineal title at ww, pac elects to move down to 140 then fight cotto at a cw which was not for lineal title by the way while mosely was inactive all 2009 with no opponent after saying he wanted to fight manny numerous time through the media,then signs a unification with berto that falls through..then he fights floyd..

So maybe pac wanted to fight but arum didnt work with gbp or floyd so bob arum should be the one blamed for the mayweather and mosely fight not happening in 09

Exactly my point. And who did margacheato beat to get that title??? Ive said this plenty of times already (lol) but I MUST reitarate: Floyd decides to "retire" after cotto beat mosley. Then after cotto loses to cheato, then cheato loses to mosley, floyd "unretires" and says, im back in boxing.

There were still in the same division and cotto was a champ wasnt he? Again blame greedy bob

wba my bad lol.... They wanted the margarito cotto fight and then the mayweather fight after that in late 2008. But those plans where messed up because floydie retired. Floyd already had most of the belts except the wba belt. Which floyd wouldve had to face the winner of cotto/margarito, but cheato changed that.
