      • Was Ellerbe qualified? No. From that perspective, I understand the move 100%.

What I don't like reading are these petty reasons. This really shouldn't be public knowledge at all. When everything goes through, a statement should be made that makes it sound both amicable and intelligent. But who am I to judge? Mayweather makes more taking a piss than I do in a month. But decision to get rid of a staunch employee and friend seems as if it came from way over his head and for a boxer who considers himself his own boss, that's a huge red flag.

        • BT: It sounds like something is going on. I know Rafael Garcia didn't seem too happy about something on fight night.

FM: Rafael Garcia is feeling a certain type of way because Bob Ware, AKA "Do It All" Bob, he wrapped my hands. Rafael is one of the best hand and eye specialists in the world. He's one of the best, if not the best, but even Alex [Ariza] was able to show Rafael some different things, which was great, and then Bob, he wrapped my hands in training camp and it was the best it felt in my life. I've never had my hands wrapped like that in 37 years. But I told Rafael that we work together as one, as a team, and his pay is not going to change. I told him there's enough to go around. On Saturday night, Rafael Garcia was in Mickey Bey's corner working and in the middle of the fight, he left Mickey Bey to come back in the back to wrap my hands. I told him that I believe in doing good business and he needs to go back to work Mickey Bey's corner. This was the biggest fight of Mickey Bey's life. We have a well-rounded team. We got other guys that can wrap. We got other guys that can do cuts. They might not be able to work cuts like Rafael, but we got guys that can wrap good. I mean, you're not going to find somebody who can wrap hands or do cuts like Rafael because he's a legend. He has videos that he's extremly good on, but when it comes to wrapping hands, you know, Rafael Garcia is still one of the best, but the best I've ever had my hands wrapped was by "Do It All" Bob. The Nevada Commission said that they had never seen anyone wrapping hands like Bob Ware. I love Rafael Garcia, but we're one team. Basically Rafael said, "I've known you longer." Rafael, no matter who is wrapping my hands, you should want the best for me because it's all about the talent. If the talent wins, we all win. If the talent lose, we all lose. I think once Rafael got his check, the way he came by, he was like, "I'm through," like that's it. You know, of course I want him to be on my team, but even if he's not, that still don't take away from God-given ability to have good hands and good feet, so with or without anyone in my training camp, I'm still gonna be able to fight. But I love Rafael and I'm going to always love him, but I don't know who's out and who's in. I don't know if Rafael Garcia left me. I don't know

This bothers me a little. I remember Floyd saying at one time that Rafael saved his hands. That nobody has ever wrapped his hands like him before. Now all of a sudden it changes?? Floyd says " your pay won't change" but I don't think Rafa was tripping on that hence the "I've known you longer" comment I genuinely thing Rafa was hurt. And Floyd's ass thinks it's about the money no Rafa might have felt betrayed. As he should. I'm a little pissed about this. **** Ellerbe

Rafael is too old to be butthurt. He wants someone new, is having you work with lesser fighters but is giving you the same salary? Sounds like a good deal. I can understand Garcia being hurt but business is business and who cares as long as your bottom line doesn't change.

It's never easy to tell someone that, so there's never a right time. You can tell Floyd really loves Garcia too.

I remember when Bernard Hopkins got rid of long-time trainer Bouie Fischer. A lot of people were up in arms, particularly Bouie who felt like Hops was being disloyal. But Hops just felt like it was time for a change. ****, at least Mayweather is still offering Garcia a salary. The same one, no less. Bouie on the other claimed that Bernard stiffed him. It's business, at the end of the day. What's going on with Ellerbe however makes you shake your head.
