Deserves probably Khan based on longer term standing in the sport of those two anyway. Deserves is a strong word though and it is more like the most logical choice given the whole environment.

Plus someone getting an opportunity does not need to deserve that opportunity to make good on that opportunity. Which is part of the essence of boxing, dudes coming out of nowhere totally upsetting the apple cart even if they are only that good for one night in their whole career.

Neither 'deserve' a shot at either the two top dogs of the division. They should fight Bradley to show everyone that they are on that level.

With that said Floyd will fight khan on the bases that khan will bring in attention and attendance.

You didn't come off as anything lol It was a serious question.

This "deserves" **** is getting old.

Who exactly has Thurman beat anyway to "deserve" a shot?

The argument seems to be that because he fights more regularly than Khan, he "deserves" it more. Never mind who he's actually fought.

neither one has done enough to earn it at this point, but thurman is a lot closer imo.

the guys resume is underrated. soto karass, chavez, zaveck and even julio diaz and quintana were good wins especially in the fashion he pulled them off. only zaveck saw the final bell and he did so without winning a single round.

these arent top notch names, but they are solid fighters who all did significantly better when matched up against other top fighters in the past or future. there is clearly a big gab in quality to mayweather and thurman needs to bridge that gap before he would deserve a shot. but its only a fight or two away considering how impressive he looked.

khan only has one fight at 147, a solid performance against a good fighter but coming off 4 straight fights were he looked terrible. winning at a 50% rate and only to the lesser opposition.

he has better wins than thurman in the past, but they were a long time ago and at a lower weight.

Thurman is the mandatory and has been in the welterweight division longer than Khan so I say he deserves it.

Of course, a match between the two would be a better way to "earn" a shot at Mayweather.
