I talked to my Mexicano Amigos and the reason they rooted for Vargas over De la Hoya is because he's younger more urban looking he's a brawler he says he's mexican first and American Second, unlike De La hoya who is a " mexican American" supposedly his Spanish is horrible......

another reason is that mexicans dont like him was the fact that everytime he has fought someone good hes gotten his ass beat, mosley2x,hopkins,trinidad even ike quartey landed some brutal shots on oscar.
