Comments Thread For: Stats: Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Less is More in Rematches

Floyd Mayweather has fought two rematches in his 47-fight, 18-year career- vs. Marcos Maidana and Jose Luis Castillo. In his rematch win over Maidana, Mayweather threw a career low (for a 12-round fight- 16 fights) 326 punches. His previous low was 399 punches thrown- vs. Castillo in 2002 in a rematch of a fight in which many felt Castillo won. Maidana did enough in their first fight to merit a rematch. With some help from ref Kenny Bayless, Mayweather controlled the pace of the rematch and as a result, Maidana threw 270 fewer punches and landed 97 fewer.

The only reason Floyd took a rematch is because it was a safe way to get closer to the end of his ducking career.

Floyd's p.ussy bill, legal fees, and lack of ability to generate income guarantees that the "end of his career" will be closer to when he's 48, and not 38. Don't worry. Soon enough the years of b1tch'n and obsessing will climax when you see Floyd get his ass kicked. Its no longer a question of when, but who.

At some point, you and other guys on this anti-Floyd crusade are going to come to the conclusion; "That you're preaching to the choir". Some that agree and those that don't.
And its not going to change ... so, what's the use?

Less is still less. The Castillo rematch was a pitiful sparring match where both looked bad. At least Floyd clearly beat Maidana in the rematch this time.

Ugh just hurry up and the get your career over with Floyd I'm so tired of everyone thinking you are this skilled boxer when the best thing you do is hug and elbow.....the only fighter I can think of that he fought that was 5'10" or taller is Chico.

Not every fighter gets marked easily, Floyd previous three opponents were marked up pretty bad.

Also superficially Maidana may have no damage but internally he is very damaged. His head snapped back at least 20 times in this fight as well as the punishing body shots he was dealt.
