    MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada -Former lineal champion Sergio Martinez was in town this weekend to catch the rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his countryman, Marcos Maidana.

    Martinez last fought in June when he was stopped by Miguel Cotto. Martinez, who had surgery on his knee before facing the Puerto Rican, never looked right in the fight. He suffered multiple knockdowns and had trouble planting on his knee.

    He doesn't really kneed another farewell fight, he's proved all there is as former lineal champ and seems to be doing well with his promotions etc.

        Hang them up Sergio. You ain't beating the best of any division and fighting 2nd rate opponents does nothing for your career - especially if you are shopworn and somehow lose to them.

        You brought your country glory and the world a career with memorable highlights. Don't add guys knocking you out to that list of highlights. Father Time beats everybody, especially guys who rely on speed and sharp reactions.

          Chaves Jr. should have been his last fight. He fought everyone and proved everything there was to be proved. Just hang 'em. No need to get beaten up by B grade boxers you could have destroyed with one arm in your prime.
