Does it make sense for Mayweather to fight Cotto at 160?

Fight GGG, the guy most people think is the real middleweight king, even before Sergio lost to Miguel.

I would much rather have seen a Khan fight this weekend than a repeat of the May clash but I suppose that's the way these guys make their money by taking non risk fights.I mean Maidana in the first fight pushed Floyd hard for 7-8 rounds when Floyd tried to trade with him before using his movement and staying off of the ropes to nulify the threat of the tiring Chino, everyone knew he would start and finish this fight as he ended the last, less adventurous and daring than last out.
I don't know how I rate Khan's chances,I couldn't see him winning,then again undoubtedly Floyd won't stop him.

It makes more sense for his last fight legacy wise, but it's too big of an opportunity to pass up. I could see Floyd going to 160, besting Cotto, and then moving back down and have his Sept 2015 retirement fight, most likely a pretty soft touch so he can't ride off into the sunset undefeated....
Until he inevitably goes broke as history shows us will most likely happen, which while I am not a fan of his really I wish that on no man, and mounts a comeback.
It is the best move for Floyd by far. While still a dangerous fight, especially with Cotto being a few years younger and experiencing a nice resurgence and Floyd supposedly losing a step or two. That said, he would still be the favorite and rightfully so. I say he fights Cotto and retires, or fight Cotto at 160 then fight Pac in Sept then retire, though it'll probably be a Kell Brook type young buck who can enhance his legacy by winning after he retires.

If the Pacquiao fight can't be made in May, I'd want to see the Cotto fight again.
What are your thoughts?

Winning this would mean that he would be the first fighter since Henry Armstrong to hold 3 titles in 3 different weight classes @ the same time. This fight would be more meaningful that Pac at this point (he should fight Garcia, and the winner gets Floyd for his last fight).
Pac should fight Garcia and the winner get's FMJr. for the retirement fight.
Meanwhile, Floyd fights Cotto for Lineage at 54/60, etc.
After King Cotto beats Floyd, he will take the retirement revenge vs Mayweather for the biggest payday of his career and the King could retire with mega $$$!

Whatever 'issues' there are, I don't think they are because of age, more age.
But tbh he looked completely fine to me. Maidana is a very good fighter - it seems like people don't give him credit for that. Nobody has had an easy night vs Maidana, yet Floyd moves around a little and all of a sudden he's old.
I think he looked fine.

whenever you have a noticeable amount of Vaseline on your face before a fight, that's a sign they are trying to keep you warm. Not a good sign. Whenever a fighter rehydrates that much its also not good. Floyd had to add a minimum of 12% of his weight (when he entered) since the weigh in. thast a lot on the human body.
He won the fight because he is still a great fighter. But I think its time to leave 147. I could be wrong.
