Why are some fighters flat footed? Is it genetic like speed?

broner fights flat footed by choice,as does ward and a few other gifted athletes that choose to fight that way because of the way they thrown punches,u gotta watch real closely, mosley for inetence often wouldnt give the apperence that he was flat footed but watch when he throws combinations and look at his feets

Do the more bouncy fighters have more arched feet?
This s red k worthy booty dew, to be honest.

Flat footed in boxing isn't the same as teh medical condition it's meant to describe a fighter who is slow on his feet. Broner isn't flat footed as far as his literal arch, (or maybe he is, the point is that that's not the point.) he is flat footed because he moves like he has his feet in cement, it's a metaphore.

Thus, flat footed as we use it in fighting terminology isn't genetic, it depends on the fighter and trainer.

flat footed when it comes to actual arches is different. I am technically mildly flat footed in that regard, but you sure can't tell in the ring or with shoes on, I move quickly. Apples and oranges.

I dont agree temperament has anything to do with how someone moves in the ring

I don't understand either how some dudes are so slow and flat-footed. Like no matter how fast a guy is he can only be "so fast" to an extent because the dimensions of the ring only allow you to be so fast. Margarito is slower than a turtle on purple drank. Even with genetics and training I just don't understand how that happens.

From what you've wrote. You're not talking about flat-footness, you're talking about foot speed.

Like Roberto Duran, who fought flat footed but had very fast feet, he could close the distance in a blink of an eye, pivot very fast in angles while on the inside, etc etc.

I think its genetic, but you can train for footspeed, Canelo has ****in' slow feet.
