I'll give him credit, his interviews are almost as entertaining as his fights. Here he changes his excuse from wanting bigger fights to not being able to be ready in time due to just having child. He says his wife still blames him for not being there during the miscarriage a year ago while he trained for Rosado. Claims he's been out too long and that he'd need more than a 4 week training camp to be ready and November was too soon (if you check him out on twitter periodically he's very proud how he hits the gym everyday and stays in top shape). He then of course finishes the interview and says he hopes to fight before the end of the year.

He also says he had concerns with Jay Z promoting the fight because he's a newcomer and then compares Jay Z to how 50 Cent has been a failure.

You kidding? Quillilns been talked about more in the last few weeks than he has in the last few years combined. Quillin's a trending subject finally like Golovkin, but for completely opposite reasons. Al knows he can take all this publicity and swing it in a positive direction with a couple of impressive wins like over Jacobs & Angulo.

Let people throw rocks at Peter, the guy is still capable of winning some serious fights and if people start tuning in to watch him lose Haymon will work with that just fine. I'm sure they badly want that IBF belt though. With the WBA title, it's just rented territory as eventually there's the mandatory with GGG, even Chudinov might prove troublesome if Hyrunov takes the purse bid. Haymon works well with Darryl Peoples and they can control the rankings together.

I can just see how that scenario played out with petey sitting up in his room listening to Jay Z on his headphones as to keep it a secret then hear that "THUD THUD" sound coming up the steps as he quickly/nervously hides his belt under the mattress.

I've followed and liked Quillin for a few years now but either he is a giant liar or he's being completely manipulated and lied to by Haymon or some other adviser. This guy said Golovkin vacated his "regular" title to become the super champion. lol WTF?
