Comments Thread For: Maidana: This Time My Punches Will Be More Accurate

For only the second time in his brilliant 18-year career, Mayweather will face an opponent he has met before when he puts his 46-0 record, World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Council (WBC) title belts on the line in Las Vegas.

"I'm calm, I'm in shape and hopefully can change history," Maidana told reporters on Friday after a raucous weigh-in at the MGM Grand attended by thousands of cheering supporters for both men.

Hopefully Maidana still maintains his awkwardness that was the key to most of his success

This Won't Be Castillo Rematch All Over Again; Dont Be Shocked When Maidana Dominates

This is not Castillo all over again. This is a 37 year old Floyd extending a rematch to a youthful animal in the ring who just got 9 weeks to prepare as opposed to 5 weeks in the previous fight. Floyd's ego is his demise tomorrow night, and don't be jumping off and Floyd bandwagons tomorrow night to say, "I knew Floyd's legs were gone!" "I knew Maidana would be in better shape this time around!"

This will be SO good for Boxing to see Maidana take out Floyd, just like Terry Norris did to Ray Leonard towards the end of Rays career. Leonard was always in great shape, just as Floyd is. But there comes a night to them ALL, where something just doesn't click, they just don't see that punch coming as quick as they once did. They don't have the legs, they get too flat footed, they can't pull the trigger in the right hand, punches start hurting more than they once did. It happens to the best, from Joe Louis to Ali to Larry Holmes to Evander Holyfield to Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, Pernell Whitaker, to Hector Macho Camacho, to Oscar, Trinidad, Mosley, Roy Jones Jr. That night comes where they can't put a finger on it, they just came up short, they just didn't have enough, and it's going to happen to Floyd, very likely Saturday night, or maybe in one of his last two fights, depending how much he hand picks his choice. Floyd's night is coming soon.

Remember Terry Norris Versus Ray Leonard; Could Be Maidana-Floyd Tomorrow Night

Pull up the YouTube video of Terry Norris versus Ray Leonard. Could very well resemble Floyd-Maidana tomorrow night. There's a night coming when they all get old right before your very eyes, all in one fight.

Maidana needs to keep the distance close, punch when Floyd tries to clinch, punch straighter, and feint the jab and punch to the ribs on the right side.
