It is his first offence I think
Why does Santa Cruz get a pass?

He might not get vocally slated, but it might just be its such a ***** fight that no one actually cares. He isn't as popular and actually until this thread I had no idea he was even fighting and now I do know he is fighting I don't care.
It might actually be better this way, if people don't know about the fight or care about it means less people watch it, less money for fighters and promoters/networks for these crappy fights.Comment

Most people have criticised him. Only a few dumb Mexicans excuse this ****.
His situation is worse than Garcia's. Garcia is more in the spotlight though so naturally there was more attention on him.Comment

Unlike Danny, Santa Cruz isn't the lineal champion in his division, he isn't considered the best in his division by any rankings either. Last and certainly not least, Santa Cruz and Roman aren't headlining the Barclays Center like Danny and Salka did.Last edited by BOXEO _; 09-12-2014, 01:16 PM.Comment

The main thing with Garcia was he beat Khan... big win. That propelled him into the limelight then he fought Morales again... No one wanted it but it was deemed a fight that he deserved, a pay day. Then he fought Judah which wasn't great but okay... Matthysse was even bigger than Khan and made him the man at 140.
I remember people hating on Herrera saying that fight was on the decline but it didn't go to plan on the night... I assume Salka was a confidence booster but at least level off the decline and not just plunge even further...
Santa Cruz hasn't blown yet and thus isn't as popular. Plus, what better than to put him on a widely anticipated card with a lot of attention against an opponent that will make him look really good.Comment
except you forgot he's a warrior
