Comments Thread For: Cuellar Retains With Brutal Knockout of Juanma Lopez

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - Jesus Cuellar (25-1, 19KOs) likely ended the career of former two division world champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez (34-5, 31KOs) with a brutal second round knockout to retain the WBA interim-featherweight championship.

Cuellar started fast, taking the lead and applying pressure with hard combinations. Juanma's right eye was swelling up by the final minute. By the second minute the left eye was swelling up.

During the second, Cuellar backed Juanma into the ropes and landed a huge three punch combination that dropped the Puerto Rican boxer face first. Referee Kenny Bayless immediately waved off the fight.

      Salido ruined Juan Ma

The first Salido fight ruined Lopez and the second one destroyed him.

Juanmas brain is done. He should have retired a good while ago when it was pretty obvious that he's not improving his defense and consistantly taking big punishing blows. I wish him good luck in life after boxing because he will need it.

if you want to make a statement and show the world you are still relevant in boxing, facing an argentine puncher might not be a great idea...

Good Lord that was brutal. 2 vicious KO losses in the matter of 2 months.

Juanma : it is over , man .
I couldn't watch you fight Gamboa when you both were undefeated , maybe arum knew better and that is why he protected you .

You should retire , stop doing this to yourself . You have shown good heart , but it is over .

Wow...Like I have said before, for every fighter who just lost multiple times in a row, who am I to tell them to retire when boxing is their form of income. But JuanMa Lopez needs to find something else, even though I know boxing is all he probably knows. He has to get some other form of income. Easier said than done, and easier giving such advice. But he really must retire.
