Just rewatched Mayweather vs Cotto on Fox....

I don't know how some say this fight is not worth a rematch but Maidana rematch is okay.

I had the score a tie after 8 ROUNDS! A tie! With Mayweather after 8!?

Gave rounds 2,5,6, and 8 to Cotto, but after that it was all Floyd.

Floyd took the championship rounds. All four. But even those were close, with the exception of round 12. He almost KOed Cotto.

I would love to see a rematch, it was a chess match. Cotto needs to find a way to avoid that right hook. Floyd was killing him with it pretty much the whole fight.

The world knows he could have Ko'ed Cotto but backed off and let him survive, although close and a tough match, there is a belief that Mayweather hand walked Cotto through the fight, and too many people and believing a rematch...........Was the reason Floyd backed off was for future rematch purposes?????????

If Cotto got KOed in last round, I would still have the same opinion on the fight and still have it a tie after eight rounds. Still would want to see rematch.

How about a boxer is smart enough to back off of a hurt fighter because they are usually at their most dangerous?...I believe this happens a lot in boxing too.

this was a good hard fight. i'd love to see a rematch. this was a harder fight for floyd than maidana.

You think Floyd almost knocked out Cotto??? No way! He almost knocked him down but he wasn't knocking out nothing bro. PAC caught him with an uppercut that lifted and sent Cotto flying and he got right back up. Took a beating after but he got up. So I honestly don't think Floyd was gonna knock him out. Just would have scored a knockdown.

Also if you look around, there are many writers and fans who gave 3 or 4 rounds to Cotto but the minority...only a few that had him only winning 2.
I'm guessing they were the ones high as the sky.

I also had it even after 8. Cotto doesn't get enough credit for that performance, nor does Pedro Diaz.

Cotto was spent after the big effort in the 8th. Floyd was far more energetic in the 9th and he took the last four rounds. An argument could be made for Cotto in the 10th as Floyd did almost nothing in that round. But he was firmly in control of the fight at that point. Cotto was out of gas.
