  • Comments Thread For: WBO orders Andrade vs. Korobov for vacant title at 160

It wasn’t going to be Peter Quillin vs. Matvey Korobov, not after Quillin dropped his World Boxing Organization title rather than get paid $1.4 million to defend against his mandatory challenger, Korobov.

And it’s not going to be Korobov vs. Billy Joe Saunders for the now-vacant belt.

Rather, it’ll be Korobov vs. the WBO’s 154-pound titleholder, Demetrius Andrade.

That’s what the WBO announced on Wednesday.

Hoping this ends up as the supporting bout to Hopkins-Kovalev.

Saunders' resume isnt that bad, respectable for a guy at this point of his career.

AHAHAHAHA the WBO making fun of Average Joe Saunders

While I don't really think all that highly of Andrade, I'd favor him over Matt "I have the gas tank of a Hummer" Korobov.

I have no problem with Andrade's side of this, but what the fuck has Korobov done lately - let alone in the past 5 years - to warrant a title shot? :conf1:

This is good news! Hopefully we can have B.J.Saunders vs Chris Eubank Jr, with British, EBU & Commonwealth belts on the line now!

Hell Yes! Boo Boo's about to win another title in his 2nd division. That'll make him a major player at 160. Bring on Canelo, Cotto , or GGG afterwords.

Good fight, I'm not sure if Andrade is a middleweight though, we will have to wait and see. If he beats Korobov, he makes a compelling case for a GGG opponent.

I like Andrade and believe he can win, but I've seen him hurt by lesser fighters, should be a good one.
