  • Comments Thread For: PR Best Boxing To Protest Arroyo-Ruenroeng Outcome

PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP), promoter of the flyweight contender McWilliams Arroyo, will submit a formal protest to the International Boxing Federation (IBF) regarding his split decision defeat against the 112 pounds IBF champion Amnat Ruenroeng this morning in Thailand.

Peter Rivera, Vice-President of PRBBP, told that in the protest will demand an immediate rematch between Arroyo (15-2, 13 KOs) and Ruenroeng (14-0, 5 KOs), who won a close decision over Arroyo with scores of 115-114, 114 -113 for him and 114-113 for Arroyo.

Pat Russell needs to retire. How are you going to cut rounds short not just once but several times?

I was surprised Amnat got away with excessive shoving to top off his clinching. However he did limit Arroyo's offense and made it his fight. Russel should retire, the sport needs sharp eyes and ears, especially during title matches.

GL to PR Best Boxing with their complaint, a rematch would be good and I have a feeling Arroyo would actually pull it off the 2nd time around. Or.. Ruenroeng can prove me wrong again and make me look like an idiot twice this year.

Of the few times I've watched Ruenroeng (not just his last 3 fights), he always gets away with excessive holding and pushing guys. I had Amnat winning barely and Arroyo did let it slip away, but Pat Russell was a complete joke of a referee. An immediate rematch should be mandated.

Puerto Rico needs to look at their own scoring controversy before they start protesting someone elses. Castaneda vs Lopez was Awful. Castaneda won that fight. However Ruenroeng won his fight legit.

Yeah, the whole Castaneda-Lopez thing is sketchy as **** and Castaneda deserved to win. While Ruenroeng was the right winner though, the whole controversy with Pat Russell is reason enough to warrant a rematch.

Maybe they should have a card with Ruenroeng-Arroyo 2 and Castaneda-Lopez 2... but in someplace completely neutral...like the North Pole.

The commissioner "instructing" the judges and later himself changing the round voting. As well as the referee, after Lopez was down, applying the count when the local fighter was seating (by rule in many places the bell doesn't save a boxer)!! Regarding judges: when was the last time someone without ties with P. Rico won a decision there? Mauricio Herrera like many other was deprived of a victory because home decisions are gifted every time in the island).
