Yeah, we saw the after match, but what if there was actual video footage of him beating the dog piss out of her in the car? Seeing is different.
Who knows how people would feel. I'm sure there's ravens fans that hate rice now and some that could care less. But if rice come back an rushes for 1k yards and wins a super bowl then the fans will love him. Such is life

I'm a huge fan of Floyd so I can say I wouldn't if he did what Ray Rice did. I usually don't care about anyone's personal life but cold clocking a female like that is a no no. Something that to me is inexcusable

I think it would change some people's minds. It would make it far more difficult to compartmentalise the incident(s) from the boxer they like to watch. I doubt Mike Tyson would get live audiences and viewing figures if there was video footage of him raping a girl.

I have a question. Why is this question limited to just Floyd Mayweather if the "social aspect" of this is the focus of the topic? As pointed out, there are many, many boxers, let alone athletes from the wider spectrum, who are known for this kind of thing. This is no way in defense of Mayweather's deplorable actions. I just want to know if we're questioning people's ability to compartmentalise or predictably taking a shot at a section of fans (more likely knowing the thought process of some here).

Yup that whole video really brought to light the brutality of the situation.
Honestly I didn't care much about it until I saw the video.

Because this is a boxing forum. If this were an NBA forum, I would've asked the same, but for Lebron James or Kobe Bryant.
