Román "Chocolatito" González is back in Nicaragua and there were hundreds of fans waiting for him at the Managua International Airport. This past Friday night in Tokyo, Gonzalez became a three division world champion by scoring a ninth round knockout over Japanese beltholder Akira Yaegashi to capture the flyweight crown of the World Boxing Council (WBC). With the victory Gonzalez became only the second triple world champion in the history of boxing in Nicaragua, with the great Alexis Arguello being the first boxer to reach that accomplishment. Gonzalez said he will make the first defense of his title on a date in November in Japan.
