8000 is not bad in the US. Most US fighters couldn't draw that many fans in their hometown.

Matthysse is not some kind of big shot, he's not even a titlist. Broner doesn't have to "earn the right" to fight him.
Btw if I were GBP/Haymon, I would just let Broner fight Matthysse as a last chance to prove he still has potential. What do they have to lose at this point? If Broner wins, great; if not... they can give up on him for good.

Now while what you guys said is true. Broner himself called out Mattysse. IMO, now it's time to man up and make it happen. Yes Broner could fight someone else. But he put his own rep on the line and it's responsibility to man up.
