Comments Thread For: Broner: I Said Matthysse Should Be My Next Fight!

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Adrien Broner and Emanuel Taylor put on a show for “The Problem’s” 8,115 hometown fans in attendance at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, brawling to a close, unanimous decision (115-112, 116-111 twice) for Broner that was arguably one of the best fights of the year.

The main event of the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader was a tactical, inside fight from the beginning. Taylor (18-3, 12 KOs) was effective in the early rounds, coming out with an aggressive game plan that surprised the favored Broner and had him backing up against the ropes. The fight was even after six rounds, but as Taylor’s energy waned, Broner (29-1, 22 KOs) took control of the bout.

Broner is capable of winning this fight. A lot of people forget how easily Danny Garcia beat Lucas. Unlike Maidana, Matty will give you space to work. I don't think its ridiculous to think that Broner could hit Matty with that same hook coming in like DG did. Matty has the power advantage for sure but, I still give AB the skill advantage. Maidana does very well about closing the gap and smothering his opponents work with his aggressive, rough style. Matty doesn't have that style, he does have the KO power but, he's not nasty like Maidana. Lucas will give his opponent enough space to counter him coming in. You ever notice how far Lucas will slide back after a combo. I see AB having the opportunities to stop Lucas rhythm with sticking the Jab to the body and catching him with that left hook coming in. He won't ever hurt Lucas, but he'll control the fight to 12. Watch. BTW I don't even like AB... I just see what I see.

Easy? Funny stuff! It was a close fight! Matthysse knocks out Broner and Garcia too in a rematch! Matthysse realy had a bad day against Garcia but it was still close. And Garcia looked like **** in his fights after Matthysse.

            Broner's self-efficacy is amazing.

Sorry my friend but I think you watched the bootleg version of Garcia vs Mattysee because that fight was hell for both men and going by the score cards the winner was decided in the final 2 rounds.

I put my money of Lucas to beat Broner by UD after inflicting 2 or 3 knock downs upon him.

I don't ever want to hear anyone say Broner doesn't have any balls. He has Cantelope sized balls.

And obviously this thread will be filled with people saying broner is all talk even though he has no track record of ducking fighters.
E.g. He wanted the maidana rematch

Damned if you do , damned if you don't.
If he didn't mention Lucas people would be saying he's ducking him and now he calls him out , he doesn't mean it

                  Smh

Having said that , I don't think broners advisors let him face Lucas. That could be a bad fight for broner right now. He gets hit too often. But hopefully he'll improve that and they face each other in 2-3 fights time.

Broner, as of late, has slowly become one of the best fighters to watch. He goes to war and is hittable/beatable. He also has a lot of heart the way he gets up from kds and finishes fights. Him vs. Matthysse would be an absolute barnburner and FOTY candidate.

                    War AB. War Matthysse.
