BELFAST, Northern Ireland — Carl Frampton won the IBF super-bantamweight belt from Kiko Martinez of Spain by unanimous decision before an ecstatic home crowd of 16,000 in a purpose-built outdoor arena in the Titanic Quarter on Saturday. Frampton put Martinez down once in the fifth round of a fight he dominated, and which the judges agreed by 119-108, 119-108 and 118-111.

The unbeaten Frampton (19-0, 13 KO) became the first Northern Irishman to hold a world title in 18 years. Last year, he also relieved Martinez (31-5 23 KO) of the European title in nine rounds.

Frampton is a serious draw he sold out 16,000. He could have done more but that was the max capacity. Scott quigg cant draw for **** no one knows him. If I was frampton forget the quigg fight go to the states and fight mares or leo santa cruz. Eddie hearn is a **** hes gonna try demand 50/50 when frampton is the real world champ and the draw. The MEN will be full off irish fans.

Good fight. Fair play to Frampton, hes probably second best in the division which says a lot. Kiko will have more chances.

Good performance from Frampton, cong**** to him.
Some good fights to be made..i'd take Frampton to beat Santa Cruz.
Quigg is the fight i want to see though. Hearn has been vocal about it..let's hope this time it all falls into place.

I wish America had this same sort of outlook towards boxing like the British do. You guys want to have your best out there and fight each other, I assume for pride.

I feel like it's a rare occurrence to see two top American fighters go at it. Maybe we just don't have enough fighters, I don't know. Even when two American fighters do go at it, its never as electric in the stadium as when I watch these British fighters go out on their sword/shield.

Frampton looked really good. I think hes like a smaller better version of Kell Brook. looks a lot more solid.

                That's ridiculous.

Wave goodbye to your biggest payday by far, to go fight in another country in a lower profile fight for much less money?

Where did you figure that one out, genius?
