    Carl Frampton ended Northern Ireland's long wait for another boxing world champion on a night to savour in Belfast as he pounded Kiko Martinez to swipe away the Spaniard's IBF super-bantamweight title. The 27-year-old, fighting in his home city, claimed an overwhelmingly unanimous verdict, the judges' scorecards showing two verdicts of 119-108 and one of 118-111.

    Not since Wayne McCullough made a second successful defence of his WBC bantamweight title in 1996 has Northern Ireland been able to celebrate a global boxing title fight victory.

      Frampton was impressive today. Dominated Kiko except for a few shaky rounds, but looked great.

      I think Carl beats anyone in the division except Rigo, He beats Santa Cruz and Quigg.

      Made me a fan tonight, great boxing performance.

                  Get this made. It has been in the offing for too too long.

                  I actually think Quigg is very good but Carl is probably stronger in every department and I have yet to see him in any trouble from a punch.

                      yea man i was impressed how he shut down kikos offense he made kiko hesitate alot frampton is a very good fighter

                          I'm starting to lean that way too. Frampton looks like the second best guy in the division behind only Rigondeaux.

                              Well he isn't calling out Rigo's name and no controversy, LSC calls out rigos name and people still b1tch and make sigs and threads about LSC ducking. Double standards?
