Toney came off like a fool back then running his mouth and all his ****** comments then getting whopped like he did. It gets old and takes away from the sport.
I don't want to make any excuses about the fight with Jones, but fact is Toney had to lose almost 20 LBS in one day before the fight, also he was having personal problems during that fight. That was not 100% Toney that Jones beat. Also I truly believe that in 20 years from now, Toney will be remembered more then Jones.

They'll go by the record that Roy beat Toney, though.

That's OK. Toney has been my favorite fighter for a long long time & I don't talk about Toney much, because I don't want to nut-hug my favorite fighter. All I know is that Toney will be more respected then Jones in the future that's all it matters to me. We can erase that fight, but who cares.
Roy would never fight Toney now. Roy never quite embraced the fundimentals of boxing like Toney has. Coz once Roy's reflex and speed got old, he was very vulnerable. Toney, because of his technique and adhering to the fundimentals of boxing, age has never quite diminished his style.
In the movie Tombstone, Michael Biehn challenges Kurt Russell to a gunfight. Val Kilmer (who is a badass with a pistol and is Kurt's best friend) goes out to the woods to meet him instead.
Val says "I'm your huckleberry", meaning that "if you are looking for a fight, I'm here to step up. I'll take this fight"
It's an expression of supreme confidence.
BTW, not to ruin it for you, but a tuberculosed Kilmer shoots Biehn in the dome.
the way Jones said "im yo Huckleberry" sounds really hilarious!

****, if Toney beats Rahman he surpasses Jones. Imagine if Toney defends the title a few times...Roy who?
