    The only significance was that it was the first KD of Lacy's career, and the way he bought that left uppercut out of the floor and landed it straight on the money shows that the punch lead to the KD not the push... but people simply wont see that... I think the results speak for themselves anyway.

      He was hurt, but if they didnt clash, or he wasnt 'pushed', he wouldnt have gone done.

      No punch caused the knockdown.

      Not a knockdown.

        Never saw this thread at the time. I voted "no".

        Technically, Lacy went down from accidental body contact, not a punch. So technically it's not a legitimate knockdown.

        Sure, it was a deserved call, because without all Lacy's holding in that round and the ref getting his gloves redressed without calling time there would have been a KD anyway. It was a "there but for the grace of God" KD, a much more valid one than, say, Colloza's "feet together" flash knockdown. If Lacy hadn't have taken the count he probably would have been KD'd straight after anyway.

        But the fact remains that it WASN'T a legitimate KD under the rules of boxing. That much should be beyond dispute.
