  • Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Fans Demanded The Maidana Rematch

WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) says the reason he is taking part in a rematch with Marcos Maidana is because the fans demanded the fight happen.

The rematch takes place on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather won a majority decision in the first meeting and there was little to no controversy over the result.

Because there was no dispute over the winner, there have been questions over why the rematch is actually happening.

Besides Maidana fans with vision problems no one did but the options didn't seem too good regardless.
