I get why no big promoter is trying to sign him kind of (doesn't he have like 3 promoters?) but network T.V gotta try and pick this guy up for an undercard.... they could get it a lot cheaper than some of these other fights

...you'd not say Teiken was a big promoter?

His promotional situation is interesting. Boxeo Prodessa (I think) promote him in Nicaragua, think there is another promoter for Mexico and then Teiken promote him exclusively in Japan...however Teiken get final say on fights he takes elsewhere. Effectively Teiken are the boss and the others will play ball, though Honda isn't particularly worried about the fights he gets elsewhere.

Teiken, for what it's worth, also have a stake in Carlos Cuadras and Jorge Linares.

Ryota Murata also had a strange 3 promoter deal. He was promoted internationally by Top Rank, in Japan his gym license was with Misako until..a week ago and Teiken were his Japanese based match makers. Although I never understood his deal with Misako I believe it was so he was independently able to sign a TV deal rather than be stuck with the one Teiken have with NTV. He, like Inoue, took a big deal with Fuji TV, who have really picked up the sport on terrestrial with shows like this one (fought under their "Diamond Glove Special" banner).

I kinda feel like he should be there already but, truthfully, that's me basing it off how he looks. I don't know much about his comp except he makes most of them look like ****. Chocolatito is just one of those fighters you wish was 50lbs heavier and kept the same attributes.

He already is on most P4P lists. And he is deserving.

Teikin is big, especially for the weight class he fights in, but then he has those other two. I think he either ran one out or he resigned with them... they were like Buffalo or something **** like that

What time will the fight start?

Ef Broner and Matthyse and their waste of time fights this weekend. Real fans of boxing need to pay attention to the fight on Friday in Japan.

Reading the article and this thread have given me clues on where I might be able to watch the fight live. Thanks to those that supplied the info.

Take it with a grain of salt, but it appears to me, from google translating the Japanese tv station's website, that the tv broadcast of the fight(s) starts at 9:30pm Japan time.

I assume everyone here is smart enough to translate that into their own local time.

imo gonzalez is the greatest little fighter of ALL TIME. i can't think of anyone who has been more dominant and more skillful than him.

i have him in the top 23-30 greatest fighters of all time. it's a shame no one cares about the smaller divisions because i truly believe he is a living legend and ATG.
