You are right, man. Real boxing is in welterweight and middleweight divisions

boxing is boxing, period. It's ****** to narrow it down to specific weight classes. Sure 2 of boxings best fighters are found at Welter but the lower weights have their own gems as well. If you limit yourself to 2 weights, good for you and enjoy the drought of truly competitive fights. Anyway can you please explain as to how 147 is "real boxing" but 112 isn't? This should be a great read.

To be fair, no one is interested in this division. They're a bunch of skinny birds who are a disgrace to boxing.

No one is interested? Perhaps not in the US but the lower weights are alive and healthy elsewhere. Mexico, Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and many other countries are striving down there. Simply because these fights aren't showcased on HBO or Shotime doesn't mean "no one is interested".

Skinny birds? Lol. Those weights are optimal for their physical frames. They would give up too many advantages if they go up to far, how is that their fault? Ignorant post. They are in no way, shape or form a disgrace to boxing. They are in fact, enriching the history of it and bringing attention to other countries raw talents. How could you enjoy the sport and yet belittle its weight classes.. i don't get it.

Gonzalez and Golovkin isn't that bad a comparison. They kind of remind me of each other the way they both seek and destroy with skill and composure. And no, I can't remember a boring Giovani Segura fight.

I never understand guys like that either. If you can box well and you're not in horrific shape where you has out in 2 rounds that's all I need. Guy who don't watch lighter weight classes don't know that in some cases they can be more exciting than the higher weights. Faster paced, better conditioning on the the whole and even more knockouts.

Only boxing purists appreciate fights like this. I, for one, can't wait.

Great article. Any ignorant fans who disparage these great round robin of fights should actually try watching them before criticizing.
Roman Gonzalez is my favourite fighter out of these guys but Estrada is a close second, and he seems to be improving all the time.
