According to promoter Eddie Hearn, the all-British super fight between Kell Brook and Amir Khan could be finalized this month.
Brook, the current IBF welterweight champion has made no secret of his burning desire to fight Khan before and since winning his world title against Shawn Porter last month in America.
Hearn, Brook's promoter, is still negotiating a deal between the two which could lead to their grudge match taking place next May possibly at Wembley stadium after the success of the Carl Froch-George Groves rematch which drew in an outdoor crowd of 80,000 people as well as hugely positive pay-per-view sales.
Writing in his column for the Mail Online, Hearn said: “Khan obviously wants a fight with Floyd Mayweather, as does everyone in the division, but he knows that while that fight might never happen, even if it did he would make more money fighting Kell.
“Everything so far has been very straightforward and I am in talks with Wembley over a May date. They want us back there as soon as possible after the success of Froch-Groves – I have no doubt in my mind that we would fill that stadium again. I hope to have this tied up in the next month or so.” [Click Here To Read More]
