So many great fights in the lower weights this year that it's amazing fans aren't even giving the divisions any attention.

Bouts like Koki Eto Vs Ardin Diale and Katsunari Takayama Vs Francisco Rodriguez Jr were FOTY contenders.

Gonzalez Vs Yaegashi and Estrada Vs Segura could both end up being FOTY contenders

Then you've had upsets like Novoa Vs Zhong, Rodriguez Vs Sabillo, Ruenroeng Vs Ioka

Emerging stars like the Inoue's, Kosei Tanaka, Kenshiro Teraji, Stamp Kiatniwat, the CP Freshmart fighters et al

I think it's brilliant that the hardcore fans are being given a dream year whilst the casual fans want to complain about Haymon, the "lack of good fights". If ever there was a time to start following the little men it's now.

I agree! It's just a bit amusing to see the same 10 posters consistently post on these lower weight threads while the rest of the forum ignores them lol. Screw it, at least we support the divisions that are producing some of the best talent in the sport.

It'll have to be truly epic to even be the best Flyweight bout this year...I stand by the Eto/Diale bout as the best fight at 112 so far this year and one of the sports best fights

Roman finally getting recognition. Yaegashi will probably be his biggest win going in and out of the fight.

He has big wins already over numerous guys who became champ after losing to him and showing how good they were after the fact.

Yaegashi has really bulked up since his move to Fly appears to want to gain extra strength also doesn't seem to be as active, there might be some stamina issues so wants more sting on his shots than just volume.

Gonzalez is a technical pressure/stalker an elite one at that while the speed / movement Yaegashi brings could give him some trouble he should be able to force the action enough to get his combos off do the necessary damage to score a points win, he won't stop Yaegashi but could put some hurt on.
