Serously, two Puerto Ricans went overseas, and came back empty handed (Ruiz, Santos). Now even Luis Collazo is going to Germany. Plus, Vegas blows just the same. Bring back New York/Miami boxing !
please check or ask around, i know it was 80% or more buyers that were hispanic. or i tell you what just wait for pac to be on a ppv not fightin a mexican and then youll know if hes hot or not.
well if the attendance in the pac-em rematch would be the basis, i think it would be close to 50-50 or probably better for the pinoys. i even heard jim lampley sayin during the fight that filipino fight fans who showed up that night outnumbered the mexican fans.

i heard hbo invested alot of money on manny, i guess thats why lampley said that to get mannys people comfortable, but i know damn well it wasnt 50-50.

were you there that evening to be certain of your "guesstimate"? i don't think hbo or jim lampley would say something like if it wasn't true unless he miscalculated the mix of people in the crowd. lampley mentioned that manny fans' making noise was much louder than erik fans'.
if you say the mix was 80-20, then at least half of those 80% mexicans who were there that night must be pac's fans as well.
i still insist that the attendance that night was close to 50-50, rather than what you think otherwise.
IMO, fighting in your opponent's turf makes a slight difference at least in mental and physical conditioning, especially if it was your first time. You'll most likely to lose if the score is close even if you outscore him.
But if you're that much outgunned like the Cal-Lacy fight, it wouldn't even matter. regarding the JMM fight, i haven't seen it to make a comment.
i've heard Chris John doesn't fight outside Indonesia. I just wonder how he'll do in the US without those crowd around him.
