Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Says No Friction With Showtime, Espinoza

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya informed BoxingScene.com that his company still maintains a very strong relationship with Showtime. Prior to becoming the head of Showtime Sports, Stephen Espinoza was a lawyer who worked very closely with Golden Boy.

A lot of people in the industry say other. Espinoza is a scumbag. Really hope showtime gets somebody without an "agenda" to replace him. Espinoza is a jackass embarrassed he is Latino.

When a statement is put out explaining there is no tension there usually is something brewing. As the saying goes where there's smoke there's fire.

We have a great relationship [with Showtime]. I go way back with Stephen [Espinoza]. We get along great.
No kidding Oscar, he was your lawyer before heading Showtime Sports.

It seems like Oscar is the only one trying to do good for the world of boxing.

What is he supposed to say? No one expects him to say he's pissed with all the Haymon mismatches he's forced to promote. I could imagine it's a horrible, disgusting feeling that makes you wanna disappear.

He should take anyone he has under contract, not under Haymon back to HBO and leave all the Haymon garbage on Showtime.
