    A Side Picks the Gloves

Forget about all the recent events/controversies. Would it be okay if from this day onward for EVERY fight the A side gets to choose the gloves for the B side of the fight? Would you as fans be alright if this became a STANDARD & is INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACTS too?

    Obviously not.

Jesus, why is everything so difficult in boxing. Why can't even something as straightforward as this be handled in a fair and standardised manner.

The commissions simply have to issue a list of approved gloves for professional bouts. And that's it. That's literally all that needs to happen. Yet this sport is such a disorganized mess that such a simple task is transformed into an insurmountable obstacle. It's actually embarrassing.

No I don't think a fighter should choose the gloves of another fighter. It makes the fighter look p*ssy if he's fighting a guy that hits hard and wants to make him fight with glove that have more padding. Would u agree that it makes him look soft???

It doesn't matter what I think. Besides, The fighter that signs the contract is just as guilty as the A-side choosing the gloves.

If he felt so strongly about it don't sign the contract and take a stand for what you believe in. A-side demands exist because the b-sides allow it because the money is too good to pass on the opportunity.

if the yankees play the nationals in the world series the yankees are going to write it into the contract that the nationals have to bat with nerf bats. this is how real sports work.

Not the same. Baseball has one governing body.

I believe boxing should have a standard ring size (non negotiable) and that boxers can wear any model gloves they prefer so long as it's approved by the commission (also non negotiable). The only subject regarding gloves that should be allowed for negotiation is when deciding whether or not to fight with 8oz or 10oz if you're at 147/154.
