You flowmos always have to deflect to Pacman to justify Floyd, if you cant defend Floyds opponent without deflecting to Pac that means Floyd is a true cherry picker.
Pac vs. Algieri is a harder fight than Floyd vs Maidana.
Algieri is tall, and moves a lot and fights off the back foot, he is not a flat footed come forward slow plodder like Maidana.
Everyone who discredited Pac should praise him for saying man he finally fights an undefeated guy who is not only bigger and taller than him, but also younger and has the style to give him trouble.
Floyd hasn't fought a mover, name one of his recent opponents who wasn't tailormade?
Name a Floyd opponent who was not tailormade for him? someone who actually moved like Tim Bradley or Chris Algieri name one.

Plus Algieri is a Champ, Salka weren't and neither was he a LWW, Pac's a natural LWW.
I'm not saying this fight is great but it's miles better than Salka vs Garcia, this at least has the potential to be competitive.

I don't think you can find a Pac fan who would be butt hurt about it like floyd spastics do.
Reality is Arum and HBO obviously don't depend on PPV numbers. Business people in Macau probably already paid everyone in advanced their shares of the loot, the undercards, Pacquiao's guarantee, issued Algieri's pay cheque, etc. And it's clear that these entrepreneurs in China are making tons of money even in non Pacquiao fights. I won't be surprised if DLH is currently consulting with Arum about venturing into Macau.
You people need to realize that PPVs numbers don't tell the whole story. Profits won't be there if you're spending like drunken sailors on promotion and other little things to draw people.

Also just to point out. The US is not the be all and end all of all PPV.
Some of you like to think US PPV #s is the only thing that matters . False. PAC has a large worldwide following.
Case in point. I'm in Canada. And there are many people in Canada who order PPV's.

Pacquiao's prime is behind him. and now he has to be putting away money for retirement, so he doesn't have to come back in five years and take punishment for peanuts.
He's not going to be fighting the best guys or moving up in weight to fight dangerous guys, he's done that **** time and time again. PPV is a free market; Mannys supporters can buy it if they want.
Thomas Hauser called this era in a fighters career the "retirement tour," and compared it to seeing Kareem Abdul Jabbar play in the 1980s. People arent expecting him to be great, they just came to see the legend in the flesh.Last edited by paulf; 09-01-2014, 01:44 PM.
