Zab Judah was a flat footed guy with fast hands, he could hop back but he didn't dance on his feet, he was planted when he throws and would stand still just pawing at Floyd before unleashing a combo.

Sharmba past his prime and not really a great back foot boxer. he was short and always had his guard open and would just paw and parry the punches Floyd pot shot that little man all day.

Cotto was the only one who gave some glimpses of popping a sharp jab off the back foot, when he did that it confused Floyd, Floyd kept getting popped because the bouncing on the feet confused Floyd, he seems to have trouble reading feet and hands at the same time, its probably waay he avoids guys with move a lot on the back foot and throw awkward angle punches.

I wouldn't consider cotto slick though. Floyd hasn't really have any slick boxers who are prime to his credit that I can think of.

Long rangy boxers who have movement right now would be khan and maybe Thurman.

Yeah, Cotto only showed glimpse of it, but he isn;t a slick boxer and still he confused Floyd.

I think Floyd isn't really as smart as people think in the ring, he has us fooled because his opposition have all mainly been tailormade, he is the type who cant chew gum and walk, his focus has to be on one thing at a time, if you can dance on your toes and bounce around it will make him confused he has to focus on either the hands or the feet so he loses focus and that is how Cotto popped him with the jab from time to time

Also that is how Mosley was able to catch him with the overhand, Mosley does that bounce and than attacks which is kinda hard to time, Floyd main reason for not fighting Pacman is probably not the power but because of his awkwardness and difficulty of movement if Floyd misses Pac would def make him pay and Floyd hates throwing punches unless its for sure they will land.

Khan presents that instead foot movement that is hard to time, and Thurman as well Thurman is a good boxer who moves well on his feet but with power and stamina.

Excellent analysis. Much respect. He might be able to outmuscle Pacquaio but Thurman looks to be a much sturdier natural welter. Hopefully he pans out.

            • As much as I want to boycott it, seeing him get his eared boxed clean off by an ESPN rate fighter would be just as hilarious. I think I'll probably end up ordering it.
