No. There is a saying, "If you're not a ******* by age 18, you don't have a heart. And if you're not a Conservative by age 25, you don't have a brain.".

It sort of applies to Mayweather. Any reasonably intelligent, mature individual will cease being an admirer/devoted fan of Floyd at some point. You grow out of it. There is a pattern to the kind of people who are riding his coattails. I mean at some point, you stop liking children movies. It's just that time. But there are those who stick with children movies forever.

And if you're actually inspired by the whole "Hard work, dedication, Easy work, making money" mantra, then you need better role models.

I'd say that's true. When I first got into boxing I saw him being touted as the best and thought wow this guy is amazing. But then as I saw what he was like outside the ring I changed my mind. And after seeing other boxers from different eras I changed my tune. I still appreciate his skills in the ring and enjoy watching him fighting but I don't consider him the best ever. I don't believe you can be the best when you've fought less than 50 guys, no matter how good they are

So basically if u don't approve of a person's personality outside of their profession, you shouldn't be a fan of his talents? Da fuq? The fact that you pose such inability to separate your emotions from someone you only know solely thru social media is immature. To not be able to appreciate Floyd's extraordinary skills due to his persona outside of the ring is the reason boxing fans are a dying breed. As Nas said in "Ether" y'all (dudes) deal with emotions like bittches....

One cannot deny Floyd's exceptional boxing skills.
On another hand, one should notice that Mayweather isn't quite truthful to the sport...

depends on how you define a fan.
a fan that views their idol like a god? any person who quits being a fan of anything/anyone is maturing.
not admiring someone who does what he's supposed to do, is a sign of bandwagoning hate...

in floyd mayweather's case, if you dont see him like a god and try to live act talk like him, ur fine. if you love his boxing, that's fine as well.

I was the complete opposite. I hated Floyd and was a huge Pac fan back then, I really didn't watch Floyd back then, i was somewhat a casual only watching my favorite fighters like Lennox, RJJ, Morales, and later Pac. But when i saw the build up to the Gatti fight and how Floyd treated him, i really hated him. It wasn't until the Ortiz fight i began to be a huge fan, i like his style alot, his Money persona sucks but his style is what makes me a huge fan now.

The problem is, there are things he does "outside" of the ring that negatively affects his legacy of what he does "inside" of the ring. In example, wouldn't you agree that taking away your opponents right to have their choice of Commission approved gloves because you're afraid of their power "inside" of the ring is ultimately... not very commendable?
