I felt sympathetic towards Love when the commentators said that he has 10 brothers & sisters to take care of. Now that's SOME responsibility on his shoulders.

I think the lady who came running towards ringside when Love got knocked out was his mother.

    Hoping he bounces back.

Most boxers have rough back stories. With J'Leon Love, you have a guy who was getting more push than a fighter with his skill level deserved. He was given slots on PPV undercards, was headlining on ShowTime, got a gift decision and was one fight away from getting a title shot which he didn't really deserve.

The red carpet was laid out for him with rose pedals laid on the floor. All he had to do was walk over lower level opposition and tag along for the ride and he couldn't even do that.

That's why I can't really feel bad for him. 90% of all boxers in the world would love to have had the opportunities and resources in boxing that he was granted. Call it tough love I guess.

Thank you. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of boxers like J'Leon Love who never get his opportunities. Why feel bad for him? Feel bad for those guys, such as Porky Medina, who have to claw and scratch their way to positions Love was gift-wrapped.

"I take care of 11 people"....this right here is why athletes go broke. Only people who should be taking food off your plate are mom and pops. If you have arms and legs get your @ss up and go get to work.I could understand if he said "I'm paying for their education" but if you paying another grown persons rent you really expect them to get up and help themselves. The first piece of advice I give an artist when they come in the studio now is "limit your entourage to people who will generate you money or have an irreplaceable ability". You get these folks who just because they have a celebrity or athlete in the family expect to be taken care of instead of saying "i'ma carve myself a little something for myself out of this". If your boy is making crazy money go get an accounting degree or certification, he needs security go get training for that, he needs a chef go take some culinary classes or if you are too lazy to do that at least sit there quietly and absorb as much as you can about the business to make yourself some kind of useful.

No pity from me. Never liked him and I'm glad he got KTFO.

Tired of hearing his brother had 10 kids and how he was tragically killed. He was up to no good and had multiple side pieces.Hardly something to glorify.

As much as I want to agree with the prefered treatment opinions, the fact is he got KOd anyway. It's like hometown cooking where knockdowns are called slips, and losses get finessed into wins. Sooner or later the truth comes to the light. All this preferential treatment only leads to brutal KOs by. You tell a guy that he won a fight, but didn't, and then put him in with someone better than the last guy. That's no favor.

Love was bound to get his. Iv'e said it once and i'll say it again, TMT fighters are soft. Bey has the most potential. I dont fee; sorry for Love but he does have a story i can relate to. End of the day it's boxing, and more so it's life.

On another note, great well written article by G-Man. Keeping it on point as always.
